When children are confident with their phonics and is capable to read independently, we will recommend children to join our Novel Reader class. During class, children will read a chapter book together in a group. At the end of each class children will be required to write a short summary of what has been read. After completing the whole book, children will be asked to write a whole book report focusing on the beginning, the middle and the ending.
During each class, children will be asked to participate in class discussion focusing on the details of the story/chapter, children will also be taught new vocabularies. To ensure the children can use the new vocabularies taught, our children will also be asked to re-write short stories using the new vocabularies.
The goal of the course is to allow children to read aloud independently, learn new vocabularies and prepare children for writing summary.

Objective of the class:
* learn new vocabularies
* read chapter books confidently and independently
* able to write summary independently
